In 1947, the first Tissot Replica alarm caliber appeared. It was so innovative that it was featured in many Tissot Replica watches. The Swiss manufacturer has unveiled this year the latest evolution of its renowned hand-wound movements - the caliber V-40. The Le Locle-based company also unveiled four new versions of its 50s Presidents' Watch Tradition, in different finishes and colors.
The new version has several new features. All wristwatches with a Cricket-based movement used to have four hands in the center - minute, hour, second and alarm. In the new Manufacture V-40, the seconds counter is now at 8 o'clock and the alarm at 4 o'clock. The power reserve was also increased by 10 hours from 42 hours to 52 hours. This was made possible by a longer mainspring and a smaller barrel-arbor.
The movement is hand-wound and has a mechanical alarm that can be set to sound for up to 20 seconds. The caliber was developed using 24 rubies, and is made up of 162 parts. The caliber has two barrels: one for timekeeping and the other for alarm. The mechanism is operated at a frequency of 18,000 rotations per hour (www.omegareplica.me).
The Exactomatic system, patented by Tissot Replica, equalizes friction in the balance staff at all times. This is done by changing the endstones on the Incablock shock-absorbers. Decorations include nickel coatings, blued screws, and skeletonized ratchets.
